Hyman's Seafood - Charleston

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here! The grouper is caught fresh, and the shrimp grits was fantastic. All of our food was very well seasoned, and even the fried food was not greasy. The owner came around and was asking guests about their experience and how the food was. Very hospitable environment with great food options.

It has a dive bar/ sports pub vibe, the people that work there are friendly and attentive. The food is ok. I had a specialty cocktail forgot the name it either wasn 't mixed thoroughly or heavy handed on whiskey as it 's all I tasted. The she crab soup was good but my drivers had warned me there are other places that make it better. I had the chilean croquette and honestly not blown away and it was a small portion for $22. It gets a lot of attention tourist trap but I 'd recommend to keep it moving if you 're a foodie.

Not super impressed by this place.The atmosphere was cool our server was nice. Hushpuppies were the best thing on their menu. They have a message on the menu that reads Ask about our vegetarian options as a vegetarian who saw hardly anything on the menu besides 6 different versions of a potato, I asked. I was told there was a pasta served with veggies and olive oil. That 's all. I ordered it had maybe two bites. The pasta was not fresh or even cooked recently. The veggies were broccoli and tomato just thrown on a plate. I understand Seafood is in the name, but it 's 2024. Get a beyond burger on the menu or something. Vegetarian options: Little to no options. Go somewhere else. Dietary restrictions: Would not recommend.
