Hitching Post - Charlestown

We thought we'd stop at our favorite place. We've been there since I was a kid. We ordered and ate. We noticed that the Fritten were not the same. They were dense and dark. At the time we thought the cook could be new! When we were gone, we noticed a sign that Monahans read Clam Shack. We are disappointed and sad. We don't think we'll be back. The Hitching Post had the best Chowder and Fritte from Ct to R.I. The hit is now Monahan 's

While belly class good/portion ect. A bit greasy tho. Need to WORK ON THAT PART. Ordered 3 fritters. They were tasty. Girls working window very sweet/polite. Very clean grounds. Price is ok considering inflation.

Big fan of the fritters, clams, and fries here. The lobster roll is OK as is the grilled cheese. Anything fried and you will have a good time, and the outdoor eating area is a fun place to hang out in the shade on a hot day!

The clam strips were raw dough in the middle. We ordered three seafood items and received one tartar sauce, they had to scramble to find more when we asked. The fries were soggy, no ketchup. One of us ordered a lobster roll and it was soggy and flavorless listed on the board at twenty dollars, rang up at twenty three. I liked the fritters. Eighty six dollars for lunch and it was gross. Step it up guys.

I found the clam fritters a bit too doughy for my liking. The bathrooms are very nice and clean. The garden area is a nice feature for a picnic atmosphere.
