Pupusas 503 - Charlotte

This restaurant appears to be a family-run establishment, and they were fantastic! This was my second visit, and the staff were friendly and eager to answer any questions I had. They also demonstrated a solid understanding of what vegan means. The pupusas were delicious and had a wonderful texture. The yuca frita was roasted to perfection, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I will definitely be returning, especially for the tamarind juice!

The pupusas were excellent, and their tamales are deep-frozen (though you can also get them steamed). Everything was delicious, and it's clear that this little family-run restaurant in a strip mall has a strong community support, as you can see their children helping out wherever needed. It's adorable, and I love how bustling this place gets thanks to the local support. The food does take some time, so be prepared to wait a bit, but it's definitely worth it—your meal arrives hot and fresh from the kitchen.
