Bidra med feedbackFirst things first: this place is fabulous. We are from Texas and were missing the comfort foods, so we stopped by to try it out. The food here tastes like home and we can't wait to come back again. The staff is wonderful and we had a great experience. They have something really special here. Things to know: The fish and chicken are fried skin-on, so if that's not your thing, plan accordingly. Outdoor seating is available, which may be a good option if you arrive later in the
The food looks good, however?. Fried fish is a little dry and the chicken is salty Cornbread is as good as it looks like Devil eggs is good as expected Yams is the best on the plate Corn is a little weird for me Always out of baby ribs (I tried three times) not their fault.
The food was good, yet the flavor wasnt available to present itself. The chicken and collards were cold. And the cornbread was the size of a post it note, lacking both height and width. The dining area is small, but not an issue. Its the small tables that are made for lamp holding, and hard chairs that have all my back muscles on fire. Granted Im and 6'6, but sheesh. And the ventilation, they need windows or a better exhaust; we left smelling like fish and burnt cooking
Down to earth, real food. Loved the red cabbage. I got the pork, and Kim got the ????. I think I made the better choice but both were good. The cornbread seems to have cinnamon, which I found interesting, bit might put some folks off. The greens were real tasty, bit I could have got some more fatback in it. Surely the most interesting part was the deep fat fried deviled eggs. Totally unique. Let me know if you even ever heard of it! The boiled eggs were dipped in some
Fried chicken made to order so took about 15 minutes. So worth it. Family style business. Kids and stuff running around, fun and friendly vibe. Soul music playing. Indoor and outdoor seating. Chicken was meaty, so juicy and flavoursome. Love the delicious deviled eggs which I think had some kind of pickles in them. Even the green beans were delicious. Bonus slice of cinnamon cake ? thing. $16 tax tip for a meal so not the cheapest you can find but definitely one of
