Bidra med feedbackAn expensive restaurant wannabe. When we entered, it took longer than expected for a waiter to acknowledge us. We ordered the Scallops and Chorizo choosing the main course size, but when it was placed in front of us, all we could see is an entree-sized dish. The difference? You pay $22 for 3 scallops and 3 slices of chorizos (as you can see in the photos) OR you can pay $32 for 5 scallops and 5 slices of chorizos. Melting Pot, you are far, far away from the likes of any restaurant that deserves to charge their steak for $29. The paella's taste resembled watered down sauce and unfortunately it was the only dish we ordered that was close to a standard size of a main. After leaving Melting Pot, we went straight to the nearest restaurant for more food.
Visited the melting pot tonight which served fabulous food, good sized servings, very fresh, well presented tasty food. The Aracini balls were some of the best I have ever tasted. Will definitely visit again
Great food and friendly service. The daily special of surf and turf was cooked to perfection. The serving size was enormous and I couldn’t finish it. My main gripe is that it was served on a piece of slate and I had trouble stopping it...falling onto the table.
Many a meal here. All food is good and wine in generous glasses. Menu changes enough you can visit more often. They also do takeaway coffee in their off hours. Update: Now changed their name from Zipp to Melting Pot Bar and Bistro. Went there...again for a Groupon deal and they were as good as before
The restaurant is located at the bottom of the Mantra Hotel, not far from Chatswood station. There is free street parking nearby after The restaurant has two separate dining areas that is separated uniquely by a series of vertical ropes and filament light bulbs....We sat at a table next to the light bulbs initially but found the flickering lights a bit distracting so we moved to a different table. The service was very attentive and we were impressed at how quickly the food came out. We had a course meal which was a deal we purchased through Groupon. We selected salt and pepper squid and pork gyozas as the entrées, chicken schnitzel with chips and salad and an Asian style salmon for mains and a trio of gelato and the chocolate brownie for dessert. The food was excellent and we liked how they plated up the dishes. The crumbed dishes were particularly good and I really liked the jus that came with the schnitzel. This was a very satisfying meal.
