Ankar's Hoagies - Chattanooga

Ankars is fantastic splurge food. The fare is deli/pub/sandwich shop. It is really tasty. Give it a try.

Good Food. I eat here once a week (sometimes more). The food is aways fresh and 'Made to order '. Luch time is busy everyday, but always worth the wait. One of the best meals for the money on Hwy. 58. Grilled chicken pita with an order of rings, you will not go wrong.

Good place. If you are not concerned about your cholesterol and you love onion rings I recommend this place!

We're on a quest to find the perfect Gyro (Greek sandwich) in Chattanooga and we came closer at Ankar's. The meat is absolutely the most flavorful and tender I've had anywhere. It is served with grilled onions, tomatoes and Tazinki sauce, sprinkled with what I thought may be oregano. It is served in pita bread, which I will say may have been a tad bit better if it were grilled. My husband had the chili, which was thick and loaded with meat. He said the flavor was excellent. The onion rings were very hot and crispy with thick slices of onion. When you enter the building, the first thing you will notice is the decor is dated, but then it will strike you that this is one of the cleanest restaurants you will walk into. We were there just after the height of the lunch rush and the tables were gleaming and floors spotless. I look forward to returning to try one of their hoagies.

In town for a visit, had lunch here with one of my best friends. I used to visit Ankar's a lot before I moved away from town. Was just like old times. The food was just like I remembered. Fabulous. Prepared correctly and quickly. One of the best sandwich places. It aways has been. Thanks for aways being a wonderful place to get a good meal.
