Escape the tourist hotspots and enjoy authentic food at The Flaming Rooster! The baked beans are unparalleled, and I also recommend the greens and mac and cheese. Be careful with the heat levels on the chicken! The staff here is top-notch too. The owners and employees are genuinely good people, so be sure to tip them well. I hope this wonderful restaurant stays in business for many more years to come!

I came in for some hot chicken and absolutely loved it! I opted for the medium spice level since they mentioned it was hot (I enjoy spicy food, but I've had dishes that were too intense in the past). The medium was definitely spicy and incredibly enjoyable! I think I’ll go for the hot level next time, though—it's just my style. The service was friendly, and the staff were very pleasant. This place has the charming vibe of a classic hole-in-the-wall Southern restaurant. The building is old and used to be a Chinese restaurant, which adds to its character. I ordered potato salad and greens alongside my medium chicken tenders, and both were packed with flavor. I can't wait to come back and try it again!

I came in for the chicken, but I discovered that the catfish was even better! The medium spice level was no joke! Overall, I’d rate the food 4 out of 5.

I had the catfish with medium heat, greens (best I’ve ever had) and Mac and cheese.My daughter had chicken tenders with no heat, Mac and cheese.One son has the four wings, mild heat, fries, Mac and cheese. The other son had wings and a waffle. He was too young to try their challenge, but he did had one of their hot wings.We look forward to eating here again!Kid-friendliness: They offer no spice options and their sides are perfect for kids.
