Skrimp Shack - Chesapeake

Premier visit the other day. Was impressed from the staff to the food. Place was clean, to include the men’s restroom. Blackened Mahi tacos with mild sauce were great.

All the food is delicious and everyone is always so friendly. The clam strips, fried okra, and scallops are especially good and my husband loves the catfish!

Great spicy fried shrimp and fish…love the ghost pepper sauce. Extremely nice, hard working staff during my first 2 visits. Comfortable eat in area during the early part of the day. Clean restaurant and bathroom. I plan to go back for the broiled shrimp and fish, their clam chowder and desserts. I recommend all 3 locations. I recently went in on a Saturday night (May 6, 2023) and they were not on their game. I ordered the scallop basket and extra shrimp on the side. The person who took my order was new and the wait was much longer than usual. The scallops are soft and little but I like the flavor when I ask for spicy with ghost pepper sauce on the side. The Hampton location really is much better!

We tend to eat here often. Usually getting fried shrimp, scallops and/or fish and it's not bad. I'd prefer to have it creepier but that's my preference. BUT my biggest complaint is this...every single time we go we ask for extra, extra, extra tarter sauce. That's the only thing we ask, extra tarter sauce. And every single time we end up with one tarter sauce. We expect to pay more for more sauce yet they just refuse! Why is that?

We have searched for 30+ years to find a place in our area that resembles what is a (Pittsburgh usual! fish sandwich. Here, at the Shrimp Shack, it 's so coolly called a Samwich, and meets almost all of that PGH pub food.What is it missing? Crusty/ or toasted/ or better bread our too soft bun actually fell apart as we were loving our delicious fish sandwich.Please crust up your bread have you ever heard of Manzetti 's?
