Locanda Gulfi - CHIARAMONTE GULFI

Location raffinata ed elegante, con cucina a vista, tavoli con elegante tovagliato, sottopiatti di ceramica stilizzata e posate in argento.Ogni portata è curata nella sua presentazione.Abbiamo pranzato scegliendo due Menu degustazione, di mare e del contadino.Quello di mare, contemplava: antipasto di panzanella con sgombro e pomodoro. Buona, anche se la percezione dell'aceto è risultata leggermente invadente.Polpo glassato al miele su fondo di purea di patate: ottimo. Da rilevare il contrasto della croccantezza esterna del polpo con la morbidezza interna dello stesso.Linguine alla bottarga su letto di crema di nocciole tostate: ottimo connubio in cui viene smorzato il sapore intenso della bottarga.Baccalà al sugo con pomodori secchi: buono.Il menù contadino, a sua volta, prevedeva:Antipasto di melanzana abbuttunata con spuma di ragusano DOP. Eccellente l'accostamento del pomodoro siccagno col ragusano.Polpettine di sarde al sugo: Buone nel complesso anche se, al palato, il gusto della sarda invade leggermente.Riso al salto con carne mista di maiale e vitello e spuma di ricotta e cialda di riso: Ottimo nel suo complesso.Il tutto annaffiato da un ottimo Cerasuolo di Vittoria D.O.C.G GulfiQuale dessert, abbiamo gustato due ottimi cannoli di ricotta, accompagnati da un eccellente passito di Pantelleria.Carta dei vini: buona, con predilezione dei vini prodotti dalla casa vinicola Gulfi.Servizio: puntuale, cortese e cordiale.Prezzo: adeguato.

Bellissima struttura immersa nella campagna di Chiaramonte .Troviamo storia e tradizione, dove cortesia qualità ed un ottima accoglienza fanno la differenza. …Abbiamo visitato la cantina con l'enoteca dove poi é possibile degustare tutti i vini prodotti dall'azienda, un applauso particolare al NeroBufaleffj , eccezionale. Vorrei farvi i complimenti per questa unicità di Vino, mi avete regalato qualcosa di speciale . GRAZIE!!!

From a gastronomic point of view, Gulfi is among the better restaurants in the area. It starts at the entrance with a warm welcome in a cosy atmosphere. We selected the menu paired with wines from the locanda itself. Great food, but huge portions for a menu with five courses. On top of that, it seemed as if the staff was in a hurry. In 1 hour and 10 minutes the five courses were served. It cut our appetite and we didn’t finish the main course nor desert. Overall: nice place, good quality, professional staff, but way too fast for an evening out in a better restaurant.

Sicily just keeps giving, just when you think you have stayed at the best LOCANDA GULFI comes along. We were not expecting much, it was a 2 night stop close to Pozzallo before the ferry home. A 6 room country hotel alongside the winery GULFI high up in the rolling hills of Piano Del Acqua Chiaramonte Gulfi), where the style of 60s meets 2020. Rooms and bathroom are a good size with the most comfortable bed and pillows imaginable, good quality of toiletries and spotlessly clean. The pool is massive with the most fabulous views. lots of space for children to play and a pool bar. The dining room is stylish with an open kitchen. We had the meat tasting menu which was beyond our expectations, every course was delicious, somehow it just kept getting better, the presentation and taste was truly mitchlin quality but better in quantity. We also opted for a wine paring, Gulfi wines are outstanding as was the young Somiler MATTEO with his choices, vast knowledge of wines and welcoming attitude. Thank you Chef Guseppe and your team. LUCANDA GULFI has turned out to be one of our firm favourites which we will deffinately return to as soon as possible. Highly recommended. .

We contacted Gulfi one day ahead to schedule a wine tasting and received a private cellar tour and personalized wine tasting from Rocco, who is a passionate, friendly, and knowledgeable guide. The setting is picturesque and the wine is of the highest quality, including classic reds and whites from the regions that their grapes are grown (several regions around Sicily, including Etna and Pachnio), as well as more adventurous styles grown in various soil types and blends. Highly recommended!!!
