I absolutely adore this place! I'm consistently impressed by the owner, who appears to manage everything by herself. Having worked in the area on and off for the past eight years, I always find myself coming back for their fantastic lattes and delicious baked goods.

The owner is the sole person operating the shop, which might mean there’s a wait, but it’s absolutely worth it! She is friendly, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable about coffee and its flavor profiles. As a barista, I can confidently say this is one of my favorite spots in the city. Fabiola is one of the most kind and generous people I have ever had the pleasure of getting to know. She literally never takes a day off and she is primarily a one woman show. She has some of the best pastries and coffee drinks I have ever had. And I have travelled the world. She is always there to greet you with a warm genuine smile and hello. Her service is quick and she has even run out to deliver a order quickly when I worked a couple doors down. Thank you Fabiola for everything you do. You have truly brightened some of my dark days with your kindness and yummy treats.

Fabcakes is the quaint locally owned, female owned eatery that reminds us of that one special cafe on a European trip. Lattes and specialty beverages made with hand crafted flavors not mass produced syrups at those other coffee chains; pastry and lite breakfast and lunch items prepared fresh. Baker/owner, Fabiola, has given River North a little gem. Gentle reminder that this is truly a small business and Fabiola and her modest team (sometimes just her) takes care in serving you be patient, be kind and be prepared to enjoy every bite and a few stolen moments in her cozy, lovely cafe: Fabcakes!
