Bidra med feedbackI was debating between Vienna hot dog or tacos and I’m super glad I found this spot. The four piece was of the chain! The ramen soup was great to with some hot sauce! But that’s just my preference I love hot food! Definitely should try it out!
I'm giving this place 5/5 stars and here is why: 1. The sushi is shockingly good. I didn't expect this walking into a very small restaurant where we were the only customers. I always tell my wife, if we want to blindly try out a restaurant, we should at least try the ones with customers already inside. Well, I stand corrected. 2. They served us water as most restaurants do. But, they failed to mention this is cucumber and lemon water. When we tried it, we were surprised and worried about contamination. When we told the restaurant manager about this, they totally understood.. apologized and even gave us free ice cream. THAT is how you manage a restaurant. We didn't even expect the free ice cream but we were so grateful to be heard! 3. The prices are excellent. Really good. I do not suggest the crab rangoon. The sushi was fresh and fantastic at his price point. Service was good and even though a mistake was made... it was fixed and we gave a hefty tip because they really deserve that.
Finding good, reasonably priced, authentic Japanese food near me has always been a struggle, until now! South Kawa is it! My Japanese grandma would be proud to eat here. The food is amazing and the service is always good. 10/10
Delicious food and beautiful presentation. Our server was so nice and accommodating. This place is a BYOB which is always a bonus. They didn't even rush us out even though it was close to closing. We hurried up to pay, tip and leave, so don't come for me lol). 9/10
Good Sushi, Great Ramen The atmosphere lends a nice cozy and serene feel to the dining experience. The faux warmly lit latern style lighting contributes to the Japanese decor of the dining room. The sushi was good and freshly prepared as you order. Chefs are in view behind the sushi bar. I ordered a Chicago Fire signature roll and a Spicy Crab cucumber roll. The Chicago fire roll is semi-sweet with a slight kick. With 12 pieces there is plenty even for the hungry. The crab and salmon within was flavorful and deliciously blended with the avacado and cucumber. The Spicy Crab roll looked to be typical maki roll. There was a good amount of spiciness and paired well with the wasabi-laden soy sauce blend I mixed for it. I ordered a Tonkotsu Ramen to finish and was quite surprised. The chashu was tender, juicy, and savory. There was a good amount of fat along with the crisped skin and tender meat. This paired with the sunny side up egg (yolk is gooey perfection) and the slices of seafood and the noodles was great! I will definitely come back and be ordering the ramen again.
