Original Alps Pancake House - Chicago

I leave only one star because there’s not a no Star option. When I was younger, this used to be the spot where my family and I will come have breakfast I moved out of the area and decided to stop by today for something small I ordered French toast. I’m a French toast person. But the French toast they gave me was really bad. I felt like I was eating wet slimy bread.I ate One out of three French toast paid and left ,me as a server. I always make sure that the food was OK and no one bothered to ask if it was OK. Very disappointed.

Able to seat a crew of 20Family atmosphere, servers and greeter very happy attitude.Lighting well lit, Windows surrounding the restaurant to give you that overall dining experience. The food was very delicious no issues at all.My A+ place for breakfast and lunch dining!!Pictures noted

Best pancake house on the northwest side of Chicago! My family and I had breakfast here for Memorial Day. The service and food was excellent. My parents used to take me to Alps when I was a kid and now I take my toddler here for breakfast. It feels good to continue family tradition and to support a local, family owned business.

My family and I came in to dine in. Table for 4 and the wait time was not bad at all. We came during brunch time and our food was great. No complaints! Our server Austin was such an amazing server. He was very attentive and super helpful. He made sure we were comfortable. Servers like Austin makes the place great and definitely want to come back! Highly recommend this place. The pancakes are amazing and I’m more of a French toast person. The ham and cheese omelette was perfect! However the strawberries were a bit bitter but in over all the food and place is amazing. Clean environment ?

What an amazing experience I had here. Bob (which I believe to be the owner) came by to greet myself and a friend of mine, personally. Thanked us for what we do, and was just the absolute sweetest. We had the cream of chicken rice, and it was the best by far! I've tried many places, but they're usually watery. This place has an amazing cream of chicken rice soup! Very flavorful, creamy, and their bread was very fresh and soft. This is 1000% a must try, I will be back with my family.
