Belgian Beer Cafe Torenhof

I recently visited a unique spot in Christchurch that serves European beers at a great price, all in a lively atmosphere! The tasting board featuring four Belgian beers for just $15 had me craving more. I also ordered the mussel platter for $50, which included an impressive 31 mussels in three delightful flavors – all of them were fantastic! The Belgian fries paired with a delicious aioli-like sauce were simply irresistible. The service was friendly and prompt. I will definitely be coming back!

What a lovely hidden gem! The beer was excellent, and the crumbed mussels were fantastic. They were crispy, golden, hot, fresh, and beautifully presented.

The customer service was excellent, the chips were tasty, and the decor was elegant. It was a bit chilly inside, but since I was the only customer at the time, I could see it getting warmer as more people arrived.

Had a work doo here. Very nice establishment, really nice food, thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere here, and they sell 2 gluten-free beers, which come in big glasses. The staff are very accommodating. Lots of car parking spaces too. Will definitely be interested in going back for a meal and a beer. Major thanks to the staff for making a memorable evening. They deserve at least 8 stars

My partner says possibly the best beer in the city because they bring it all the way from Europe. It's expensive, and they often seem to be out of some of the options in the menu but worth a visit just for that. The food is good, though not all necessarily Belgian. They have very good mussels and the waffles are great they're also flexible about toppings on the waffles so ask if you want done combination not listed!
