Bidra med feedbackThis is one of the many fornelli common in Cisternino..not all are open on Sunday so we tried Vicolettta. The butcher shops have an osteria next door with a traditional brick oven where the meat is cooked. You choose the meat at the butcher, get a table, order the wine, antipasti, and vegetables....this is like eating at home. We chose a huge veal cutlet, bone in, Bombette , and some rolled meat with spicey sausage inside. The wine was local (2.50euros a liter), the vegetables were baked smashed potatoes heated in the fornello, marinated (and wonderful) eggplant and artichokes. The meat was as tender as any I have had in Italy. It 's simple food and nothing fancy so go here for the experience, keep your expectations in line, your nose situated at its normal level, and have an experience you won 't get anywhere else. Plenty of fornelli to choose from in Cisternino. I give it four stars for the experience more than the food. Still we were satisfied. Good value/price ration, too. Families will be just fine here.
Had to try one of these types of restaurants whilst in Cisternino, The butcher looked good and we ordered a good selection of meat for our family, however on presenting a card were told they only took cash! We were told where the nearest cash machine was, however it only accepted Italian bank cards, so then had to look for another one in the mid day heat. Eventually we had our cash and returned to the butcher, who still had our meat ready. At long last we could sit at our table, have a drink and look forward to our meal it was delicious. This was the only restaurant we came across in two weeks that didn’t take cards it would be useful to make it clear.

Very funny the oance in tanker to choose in butcher shop the type of preferred meat cook in the restaurant. very friendly butcher who explained the characteristics of the bombettes and similar and perfect cuisine of the same, consumed with the accompaniment of two delicious contours based on local vegetables. friendly environment, good wine list, good value for money.
Is certainly the braceria of the old town located in the less chaotic place. friendly and professional staff, even on a frigging August evening. beautifully roasted meat. the strong piece in my opinion is the gnummredd, which then would be the real dish of the local tradition. the butcher, who all describe as rude and arrogant, in fact it is worth the price of the ticket: a person who's a ****, no frills. last leap against the senseless said that the customer is always right highly recommended.
