Bidra med feedbackWowee! What a meal. In fact, we only planned a quick drink as I shopped through the store, but we ended up having a snow pea and asparagus tagliatelle (sadly, there were no snow peas in the dish but it didn't dampen my desires! Fab scones and a wonderful couple of Hix Fix(es which really hit the spot and got me back in the game for shopping. It's a wonderful venue and the staff are for, the most part, really friendly.
Cold Eggs Benedict just gross and it looked like spam on the muffin. So disappointing as the service was wonderful and cafe very pleasant. My mother had scrambled eggs and smoked salmon and was impressed. Shame about my order. The tea was OK but we had to ask for a pot of hot water. They were very apologetic about my Eggs Benedict and offered to reheat but I was well and truly put off. Thankfully we didn't get charged for them.
The full afternoon tea was £19.50 per person including 2 rolls, 2 finger sandwiches, 2 scones, cake and patisseries. You need to be hungry. Excellent service and comfortable atmosphere for an upmarket department store. Our waitress was very accommoding in taking photos for us. We loved the decor. Tea served in silver pots. This is an unadvertised treasure I will definitely return.
Located on the 2nd floor of fenwicks department store is this small but light and airy restaurant. Perfect for lunch or coffee. We had a herbal tea and a decaf almond milk latte. Always happy when I can get almond milk. Prettily served with a little silver bowl of smarties. Naughty but nice! There was a selection of cakes, which looked nice but I can't vouch for their taste. We were good and polished off only the smarties!
I never knew this cafe existed, in fact, I can't remember ever going upstairs in Fenwicks before. I've been to the Carluccio's in the basement many times. I'd read about this place somewhere and so on looking for somewhere for a coffee and cake went here. It is a small modern looking cafe with lots of natural light. We could see lots of cake options from the entrance and were greeted and shown to a table immediately. We both had coffees and a slice of cake. I went for pistachio and my wife had the coffee cake. My cake was very moist, the coffee cake was a little drier. While sipping our drinks we scanned the menu and liked the sound of the luxury afternoon tea and decided that it was worthy of another visit.
