Cellarium Cafe

The meal was excellent. Although the seating was fine, I would have preferred to sit downstairs instead of upstairs.

The atmosphere was perfect for a day at the abbey. The portions were large and tasty. Afternoon tea was delicious .

The service at the restaurant was lacking. Customers who arrived after us received their drinks before us, and when our food finally arrived, it was not what we had ordered. The mistake was corrected promptly and with apologies, but it was disappointing, especially since the incorrect dish was clearly not a main course.

The staff here was so accommodating. I planned to have afternoon tea by myself but ran into my son and his girlfriend and they asked to join me. The hostess graciously provided us a larger table, and we had a lovely, unhurried experience. For London, the prices were excellent. I would love to return to this charming spot.

Very nice cafe underneath Westminster Abbey. Lovely afternoon tea.
