Coffee Land - City of New York

Usually, I order a large iced latte and a slice of tiramisu. I typically choose to dine in, but I was confused by the inconsistency in service: some days the staff would bring my order to my table, while other days I had to go to the counter to pick it up. If I order food to stay, I expect it to be delivered to my table, so this inconsistency was a bit frustrating. Another issue was the presence of flies in the back seating area, which detracted from the overall experience. When I visit a café, I appreciate feeling welcomed, but that wasn’t always the case here. A significant part of customer service is making patrons feel at home, which could influence whether they return. On one of my visits, I ordered a drink from the menu called a golden latte. I specified that I wanted it cold, but it was served hot instead. This was disappointing, as a hot version isn't appealing when you expect it cold. The barista seemed confused after I placed my order, and it was clear that the staff hadn’t communicated my request properly. When I inquired at the counter whether the drink was meant to be served cold or hot, the answer was that it was indeed intended to be hot. In that case, a simple indication would have saved me time, energy, and money. Ultimately, I ended up tossing the latte and returning to my usual order. It would have been helpful if the staff had provided guidance about the drink I was trying for the first time, but that information was lacking, which colored my overall impression of the place. I want to clarify that I don’t generally write reviews based on a single visit; I take multiple experiences into account unless the first visit is egregiously unpleasant. However, I encountered too many recurring issues during my visits to ignore, prompting this review.

It's a charming little coffee shop, but the customer service leaves much to be desired. I've been a regular visitor every two weeks for nearly a year now, and it never feels very welcoming. I only found out about their points system for drinks on my own, which was a bit disappointing. After a negative interaction with a staff member this morning, I've decided that I won't be coming back. That's not how I want to start my day. Additionally, my bagel was burnt. On the bright side, their coffee and lox bagels are quite good.

Honestly, this is hands down the best pumpkin spice latte you can find!
