Bidra med feedbackWe ordered drinks while catching up and reviewing the menu, which offers a modern twist on Southern cuisine, from buttermilk biscuits to jambalaya. We also highly recommend trying the Nola shrimp and grits, fried chicken, or fried chicken and waffles. There are small plates, salads, and sides perfect for sharing. Everyone in our group enjoyed their small plates and main courses. Three of our party members ordered the large, thick apple-smoked pork chop, which was sweet tea-brined and came with cider-braised cabbage, apple sausage stuffing, and Creole honey mustard—a very hearty meal. The biscuits were hot and flaky, served with honey butter; if you're claiming to offer Southern cuisine, perfect biscuits are a must, and they did an excellent job! The jambalaya was spot on, and there was a nice twist on the crab cake with the horseradish slaw. We also received high praise for the pork-braised collard greens and garlic green beans. The small plates are a great value, while entrees range from $18 to market price. On our next visit, I plan to try their Nola shrimp and grits, as it is a good benchmark for Southern cooking. The restaurant hours are as follows: - Tuesday to Friday: - Lunch: 11:30 AM - 4:00 PM - Dinner: 4:45 PM - 9:30 PM - Happy Hour at the bar: 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM - Saturday: - Brunch: 10:30 AM - 2:00 PM - Dinner: [Time not specified] - Free on-street parking is available after 5 PM. I also want to note that the Ziemann group plans to open Mila, which will feature a Mediterranean-inspired menu, at 500 State St. in 2024. Overall, we had a great first visit to The Nest. The service and food were both excellent, and we look forward to visiting again. Thank you to everyone involved. — Nick, Liz, and Parisi, Albany, NY
Lovely service and kind staff. A bit of a wait but they were very nice about it which I think goes a long way these days.Chai latte was awesome, I usually don't like oat milk but wow!
Delicious drinks, incredible apps and entrees, wonderful service. Will always come back here!
The service was excellent, and the ambiance was lovely. Please note that from 4 to 6 PM, the menu is limited, and seating is restricted to the bar during that time. Additionally, the City of Schenectady requires payment for parking before 5 PM. The biscuits served with honey butter are fantastic, and the chicken sandwich boasts a wonderful texture and flavor.
The food, service, and atmosphere were all exceptional. We visited for brunch with the hope of finding more gluten-free options. Although they haven't introduced gluten-free pancakes and waffles yet, there were plenty of tasty egg dishes available, including some Benedict-style options, if that's your preference! Our waitress was wonderful and very accommodating. While we wished our cocktails were a bit more refined, our overall experience was delightful, and I’m sure we’ll return for lunch or dinner soon. Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free options are available; be sure to ask about sauces.
