Restaurante Las Restingas Hotel

We ate here because it was super close to our hotel and it was late in the evening. I wish we looked around a little bit more. My husband had a burger called the Hamburger-Casero on the menu, but did not realize that it was more like sausage meat, as it was not shown on the menu. It was good, but not what he expected. I ordered the vegetarian hamburger. It came with just the Patty, no bread and no sauce. It came with roasted potatoes. The potatoes were beautiful. The burger had not much taste, and without sauce was dry. I thought it was more like a sandwich. We had a few on local beers with dinners that were fine. The service was okay. Basically, this place was fine, but not great.

I should have known (after using Tripadvisor for almost 10 years) to not choose a restaurant based on the ranking alone and read reviews. And Las Restingas was a total mistake for me. We were sucked in by the fantastic view and number 4 rankings. Don't be stupid. The food is terrible. We paid over 1000 pesos (US$60) for a record of simple spaghetti for our children, starter plate of crumbs (which was plentiful to be fair, was plentiful), and a completely unusable "mixed seafood broth for two". Unbelievable. Go over. Don't go inside. I have Heaps of regret tonight!

The view of the beach is not to be beaten. We tried to be very good. Very recommended. If you come to the Valdes Peninsula to watch whales, you should stay in Puerto Piramide. Las Rastingas, the restaurant and the hotel are highly recommended.

Beleive the pictures not nice food here. no fresh fish on our trip and the staff tells us that the white salmon comes from the Busenos air, despite the sea!

With this view...who needs more? It is a place to kill time while waiting for the whale watching boat. It is right by the boarding decks, and by the beach...so it is a must. And yet the food is decent and fresh...
