Mama Tran - Claremont

Bahn Mi was really nice - not your usual pork belly, but pork slices. Still good flavour though! Very fresh ingredients and loved the flavours. Will be back.

Located in posh end of Perth this outlet of Mama Tran has a nice ambience. You need to order and pay in the counter and everything including the mint and condiment are self service. Ordered their Pho Dac biet and Mi Kho which is egg noodle with braised pork and mince pork with prawn. The pho Dac biet which is their signature dish is indeed very tasty. The stock is perfect and the meat ball is very fresh. The Mi Kho is not as good as it sounds. First of all it's too sweet and secondly can't really taste the prawn. It's more like veggie tempura. Overall it's a nice experience and would recommend this place to friends and family.

Look I'm not disappointed with Mama Tran. It is how you say "white boy Vietnamese". It's not the most authentic around, though it's extremely quick, cheap and a generous serving. I would say a great lunch option if you are working in the area.

Came here with a bunch of mates and we were treated poorly. They mixed up our order and the staff were completely unapologetic about it. Food took a long time to come out. Very dissapointed. We're used to the smiles and good food at other Mama Trans. The apple has fallen a long way from the tree at Mama Tran in Claremont.

Do not bother going here if you want authentic Vietnamese pho. I ordered a takeaway beef pho here a few months ago and asked if my noodles could be separated from the soup to prevent the noodles going soggy and the staff declined saying that they don't do this . After considerable debate the manager reluctantly complied with my simple request .unfortunately the pho was watery and quite tasteless. I could have had a better meal by cooking instant packet noodles.if you want authentic Vietnamese pho don't waste your money here and instead try tra vinh or lido in northbridge.
