Louie's Custom Meats - Clear Lake

We have always enjoyed shopping at Louie’s, but today was a different story. Last December, we received a gift voucher from our employer, who regularly spends over $1,000 on gift certificates. Unfortunately, I forgot about it until today, December 21st. The voucher had expired on December 9th. My partner drove all the way to Clear Lake, which is about 30 miles away, specifically to use it. We usually spend around $100 when we shop there. However, he was informed that since the voucher had expired, it was only worth half, or $25. Although we intend to let it go, we were regular customers before this incident. I don’t think Louie’s has lost any money on these certificates. Given the rising prices of meat, even if we had used the full $50 last December, we would probably only get about $25 worth of meat from today’s prices. I’m disappointed about this experience and shared it with my employer, who said they won't be purchasing certificates from Louie’s anymore.
