The Southern On 8th - Clermont

Absolutely fabulous. Loved our meal. Drinks were great. Very laid back atmosphere.

I had higher expectations than recieved. Had to send half of our food back. Shrimp and grits with undercooked shrimp and did not know sausages was included since a pescatarian. Overcooked in old geease fries that they still tried to serve to us with the new batch of fries. Plus i don't know who wants to eat over seasoned overcooked fries in old grease. I don't know what was going on with their service on our date but it was like they did the complete opposite of what we asked for preperation. The bare minimum and cold food. The only thing i would recommend is their drinks and fish dip, my old fashioned was too strong which didn't mind at all with the poor food and service. Barely ate or just sent back and didn't finish and sent two of our entrees and one of our starters. That's too many problems and we were pissed. I was mad at myself for picking this place especially with my date first time in Clermont with the short time there. We would have been better off getting food from the food trucks that night.

NEW MENU. Large outdoor Patio Happy hour are excellent. Food and service is always top notch.Never disappoints.

Visiting from NY, we closed Southern and 8th to celebrate the achievements of our young graduates, with Family. we were greeted and seated immediately (with a reservation of course Maurice our server was great, he took the time to answer questions and was very attentive.We dined on the shrimp grits, crab and fish dip, open sandwiches, burgers and smoked salmon we enjoyed the mimosas, sangria, pink lady and a JW Black on the side. (I Wasn't too crazy for the BlackBerry Smash but that is a taste one must care for . Our meals were served at the right temperature and presented well.Very happy we came out and chose Southern and 8th to make memories with our loved ones.
