One of my favorite places to eat! The turkey club sandwich is my favorite. The desserts are to die for!
We had been thru there on the way home from Monterey VA, which is another quaint little town, on our way home to Roanoke A week earlier. We saw an antique shop and thought we will have to go back and check it out later. So, the very next week we went back to check out the antiques. We realized we were too hungry to wait for eating. So right across the street we saw this very interesting looking building (I always notice architecture). Then we noticed the name. That caught my eye too, being from a railroad town. We decided to check out the restaurant. Loved the atmosphere. Maria was our waitress and did a fantastic job. So personable and knowledgeable. She made some suggestions. When she said chicken salad I was getting ready to say, does it have nuts, when she volunteered that information before I even asked. I have a severe allergy to tree nuts so I have to be very cautious. I got the chicken salad on croissants. Very good. Also, my husband and I both got the cheesy potatoe soup. Excellent. He got a chicken Ceasar salad. Also he was very pleased. Just a super great experience all the way around. We will definitely be back and bring others with us. I also told all my Facebook friends so hopefully you may see more customers coming your way! Some of my relatives grew up and worked at the paper mill up the road in Covington. This was the first time to actually stop in the area in many years. Totally enjoyed it!! Also, calling you by name was a very nice touch. Felt like family!
