Bidra med feedbackI wish I could give this place a big fat ZERO.We had lunch there on a Saturday and let them know our club was coming ahead of time...the day before. One waitress was working. The chef/cook said the chicken was not thawed, so it would take longer, but he had burgers and soup. I got someone else's burger so they took it back to kitchen. Then they gave me my husband's burger, which was medium rare after I ordered well done. We traded after already eating on them. They put onions on mine when I told them to cut them. I couldn't drink their tea because it was unsweetened and VERY strong. I ask for a soda which I had to ask for again after I finished eating. I was so excited about this pecan cheese cake cobbler that I had read about online and ended up not getting it...because I didn't want to bother the waitress anymore. I felt unwelcome in this place. The only friendly person was the chef/cook. Our waitress couldn't smile, or even pretend she was glad to be waiting on us. Customer service jobs require a certain type of person which was not waiting on us. People remember one thing...how you make them feel. I won't go back. My husband said it was the worst hamburger he had ever eaten, and he's very easy to please where food is concerned. Grade: F
I was very disappointed with my experience. I ordered the crab cakes, and they tasted like something straight out of a frozen bag—absolutely no zest or flavor at all. I spent quite a bit of money, and the food arrived cold. Additionally, our glasses were never refilled. I've noticed that only reviews with 4-5 stars receive responses, but I hope my feedback can help someone else make a more informed choice.
The staff were friendly, but they lacked knowledge regarding wine and food pairings. The lamb chops were quite fatty and cooked rare, while the fingerling potatoes were excessively salty, which I mentioned to the chef. On a positive note, the salmon appetizer was excellent. The filet was tender, though it could have benefited from a bit more char seasoning. The wine selection was good, and the atmosphere in the back of the antique emporium was relaxing.
My husband and I decided to stop by on a whim, and I'm so glad we did! The menu was limited, which usually indicates that the dishes are well-prepared, and that was absolutely true for both our dinner and dessert! The staff was wonderful, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere was fantastic! I wholeheartedly give it a 10/10 recommendation.
I must say, Olaf and Chef Liz truly exceeded our expectations! The presentation of the food was impressive, the variety was perfect, and the build-your-own s'mores were a brilliant touch. The service was attentive, and every dish tasted fantastic. A huge thank you to Olaf and Chef Liz for making this occasion absolutely perfect! I wholeheartedly recommend hosting your next event, whether big or small, at this amazing restaurant!
