Restaurante Bar Ki-hanal - Coba

No fue la comida más rica que he probado pero estaba buena. El lugar y los baños súper limpios. Nos tocó una mesa con vista a la laguna, el ambiente muy agradable y el personal muy amable Si volvería.

This restaurant is located behind the entrance gates for the Coba ruins (sorry, yelp, for reporting the place closed, but the location doesn't match up with the yelp map). It is a big, two storied facility that faces the lake, and the huge parking lot makes it popular with tour groups and daytrippers. They have a full bar and serve dinner, unlike most of the other places in town, which have no alcohol and are often only open until 6pm. They have a buffet, but we ordered a la carte. Food was served up quickly. The food was pretty good but definitely not as good as the other places we tried in Coba. Prices were slightly higher than at the little places outside of the gates. But the place definitely felt clean, and if you want servers who speak English (or even French or German), this place is your place. We had the guacamole, which was very good but not as good as other places in Coba. My husband had the quesadillas, which were really big. My kids had kid meal things. I had the roast pork, which was well-seasoned. It came with a small amount of rice and beans, which were fine. The beers are served ice cold, which is nice after hiking around the ruins.

Comida y ya. Como puntos a favor, el restaurante está justo a la salida de las ruinas arqueológicas de Cobá y además tiene vista al lago. Sin embargo, no es el platillo más delicioso que vas a probar en la península de Yucatán. Los platos se sirven con tortillas y ofrecen chips como entrada. Si lo que tienes es hambre y buscas algo rápido o cercano, es una opción.

Best restaurant at Coba ruins and preserve site. Lovely atmosphere in large open air palapa by the large lagoon. Great service, very clean, yummy regional typical foods at a very reasonable price. Generous portions. Great place, not a tourist trap. Hard to imagine but glad it's true since it's sharing same parking lot with main Coba ticket area. We tried their Cochinita Pibil pork for a snack, 180 Mx peso, approx. $9 USD (wonderful 12 hour slow cooked pork wrapped in banana leaf from their BBQ pit. Chef was fun to talk with). Lo visité después de mi recorrido por la zona arqueológica de Cobá. Pedí unos camarones al mojo de ajo, pero la verdad es que no estaban ricos, sabían solo a mantequilla... No me gustaron.
