Las Chavelas - COEUR D ALENE

This little Mexican restaurant is super sweet inside, the staff was very friendly and knew what they did? the owner also made his rounds to make sure everyone was happy and satisfied. The food was delicious and the proportions were very generous. I have lived in many different states and tried many Mexican restaurants and this tastes in at least the Top 5. The rice has a lot of taste and the beans were perfectly prepared. We ordered the green sauce chicken enchiladas and also red sauce enchiladas. The shredded chicken was amazing! When I eat, I tend to choose at my food to check for color, consistency and make sure that all ingredients look legit and fresh and when I was at the Enchiladas I was very impressed by the chicken that was perfectly shredded and very tasteful. All about great experience and fair prices

They're not playing around. Muy macho Tuesday special with guacamole, chips, and salsa is a great deal and a great way to get stuffed if you like wet burritos.

They are known for their crunchy deep fried tacos which are bomb and their tamales are big and delicious. Good rice and beans too! Service is always good.

If you'd like Mexican food that's worse than taco bell, this is the place. If you don't like your burrito swimming in a puddle of oil, I'd recommend going elsewhere. Also asked for chicken in the burrito and got beef. Ordered a tamale and got a gross chilli relleno instead. This food was gross and I'd rather eat taco bell... not that taco bell is great but it's way better

Left full and happy. Our server Tara was amazing! She was quick and had a very positive attitude! If our server hadn't been so great and based on the food alone I would only rate it 3 stars. But overall with the service we received, I give it 4. I ordered the three chicken tacos with corn tortillas. If I could go back I would order the flour or stick with the crunchy taco shells.
