If you looking for a good place to have a sit-down breakfast this is the place to go. Everything is hankooked and fresh everyday!
3.5 Stars I was pleasantly surprised by breakfast at Moose Cafe located at the Piedmont Triad Farmers Market. Seated quickly on a rainy morning before shopping from local nurseries, we ordered and had our food pretty fast. Large fluffy biscuits served with what I'm pretty sure is homemade apple butter are brought out as appetizers while waiting for your food. A generous piece of house prepared Country Fried Chicken, 2 over easy eggs(ordered over medium), and home fries covered my plate. My only real issue was that the home fries were a little over salted. Scrambled eggs were on my wife's Everyday Breakfast and were perfectly cooked! Overcooked eggs are a pet peeve of mine and I cannot tell you the last time a restaurant got eggs right like this. Slightly creamy with cheese on top, these were the star on the table IMO. If you want diner style food in the area with hopefully consistently made scrambled eggs I'd check Moose Cafe out.
This place really reminded me of my grandmas southern cooking! I got the western omelette and it comes with biscuit and gravy and a choice of side (I got hashbrown casserole). The omelette was just okay. They used a thick cut ham and lots of veggies in it, but I thought it was almost too much of the onions/peppers. The hashbrown casserole was really good and very cheesy. The gravy was great and had a nice flavor. The biscuits are pretty good and they serve them also as an appetizer with apple butter which was very good!
My friend and I were there this morning for the first time ever. Food was mediocre. Hostess made no eye contact or smile, looked as if someone just woke her up to go to work. Very unprofessional. I am a server and I'll make sure to give benefit of doubt. But I was immediately feeling like not staying. Zero customer service skill. We got biscuits and butter, but no drinks. There were not at all busy. I had to go find my server, standing in the server station chatting to get more water! She wasn't nearly as lifeless as the host so she did try to recover asking how our Mother's Day was? Anywho. They need some sort of dress code, unless it was pajama day. And I'm the end my friend is paying she ask the host how are you? Again no eye contact and no words. She seem miserable. Def won't be back.
