Bidra med feedbackThe waitress took a long time to take our order, and it felt like an eternity before our food arrived. I ordered the French onion soup and a salad, expecting the soup to be good since it’s a daily special. Unfortunately, it was the worst French onion soup I've ever had. The onions were raw and chopped rather than caramelized, and the broth was just mediocre, as were the bread and cheese. I really dislike raw onions, so I specifically asked the waitress for my salad to have no onions or olives, and she assured me she would prepare it. However, when my salad arrived, it had plenty of onions, no olives or cucumbers, and shockingly, no fork. The only utensil provided was a regular spoon. On a positive note, my companion enjoyed the pulled pork and french fries; both were quite tasty, and the staff was friendly.
I usually would give this restaurant a 5-star rating since I've dined here many times and have tried various items on the menu, all of which have left me satisfied. However, during my recent visit, I ordered the Cajun pasta with shrimp, and it was inedible! It was so spicy that I couldn't even handle it. I managed to take just two bites before I had to leave it behind. There were only four small shrimp, and they were so heavily spiced that I had to wipe off the excess with a napkin just to eat them. I asked my husband to give it a try, and he agreed it was also inedible. We got our meal to go, but I had to request plastic utensils, as they don't include them in the bag. I learned this the hard way on our last visit when we picked up food and realized while on the road that we didn't have any utensils.
The restaurant isn't too bad for a location that's quite remote. The wings were either too salty or overly vinegary. The portion of fries was small. However, the blue cheese dip was excellent, and the deep-fried pickles were also very good. Overall, I'd rate it 5 out of 10.
Has been dirtier every time I go in. Prices going up to unreasonable levels for low quality meats.. I noticed that they upcharge you $3 for a baked potato w your steak? Quality of meat has gone down significantly in past two years. Got tea tonightthat was basically water with some instant tea mix (horrible). Decided to drive to Texas Road House in Pueblo for half theprice and much better quality instead. I've been eating here for years and just gave up tonight. Girls are nice but if you'retrying to get me for $50 for a steak dinner work on quality. The quality does not match the new outrageous prices. Sorry HighOctane but please get things under control and I'll be back.
I usually would have rated this restaurant with 5 stars, as I've dined here many times and have tried a variety of dishes, all of which left me satisfied. However, my experience today with the Cajun pasta and shrimp was entirely different. It was nearly inedible because it was excessively spicy—so much so that my tongue couldn't handle it. I barely managed to take two bites before I had to set it aside. The dish came with just four small shrimp that were coated in so much spice that I had to use a napkin to remove the excess just to eat them. I even asked my husband to taste it, and he found it just as unpalatable. Additionally, we ordered our meals to go, but I had to remember to ask for plastic utensils since they don’t include them in the bag, a lesson I learned during our last visit when we discovered we were on the road without any utensils.
