Today, we visited Comanche, Texas, to check out a local winery and discovered a fantastic little Mexican restaurant nearby. This place serves authentic Mexican cuisine, far removed from the typical Tex-Mex offerings found throughout Texas. Los Juan's truly excels in its craft. I tried the Barbacoa, which is made from cow head, including the tongue, all slow-cooked to perfection in a pot. It was incredibly delicious! The meat was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The owner prepares it a few times a week, and on weekends, he also smokes brisket, which I can't wait to try. I have a soft spot for small, family-run establishments, and both my mom and wife enjoyed their meals as well; they had tacos and chiles rellenos. However, I believe they could improve the restaurant's interior, as it feels a bit too eclectic. Overall, it's a wonderful place where the owner clearly has a passion for his work.

I would give zero stars if I could! They overcharged me and messed up my order! When I asked them to fix it—either with a refund or a remake—they refused and were incredibly rude. Food: 1 Service: 1
Look past the appearance to find an awesome small family run restaurant. The food was very authentic and some of the best Mexican food we have ever had. We ordered the street tacos with barbacoa and carne guidasa. Both meals were delicious! The tortillas were handmade and tasted as though the corn had been ground by hand. You know it is good food when we enthusiastically devoured even every bite of the sides of rice and beans. Will absolutely stop again when driving through town! The owner spoke to us as we left and he obviously takes great pride in the food they serve and deservedly so.
