Bidra med feedbackWe can whole heartily and honestly say this restaurant was the worst Katsu experience my Japanese family has every experienced. The both the karage and katsu were dry and bland. The low quality meat was fried terribly so the batter fell off separating from the meat. The $18 karage was served on a bed of potato chips from a bag? Come on! We can honestly say this was the first time in a long time that we felt like we were ripped off by the quality of the food. We told the waitress and they did nothing, not even an apology. I would truly warn anyone coming here do not waste your money on this food, you can get a better meal in the food court at Vaughn mills, im not exaggerating.
I am a huge fan of Katsuya. This location serves small portions and doesn’t taste that good. Please stay away from this location and spend your money elsewhere!
Katsuya is one of the best places in Toronto to find delicious Katsu curry. It’s sad that there are no Coco Ichibanya locations in Canada, but Katsuya is the closest you can get to something similar. Their portions are generous and they have plenty of options. They also do spice right. I was so excited to find this location in Vaughan while looking for a good meal after shopping at Vaughan Mills across the street. I was under the impression that there was only one location downtown on Gerrard but I’m happy to know they’ve expanded. If you’re looking for a nice, warm, filling, and cozy meal, Katsuya will always be a great option.
Katsus are not very crispy. They get soggy pretty easily, and I ordered brick cheese on ubereats, and they cut it the wrong way. It's supposed to cut it so the cutlet holds the cheese up, but it was cut in half vertically, so it was difficult to eat and all the cheese fell out. When I got the food, it was hollow and empty inside the cutlet. How can they not know how to set up their food properly? And the cabbage looked old, all wilted and brown. The sauce wasn't the usual salad dressing but pure soy sauce. It was extremely salty. Their sauce has gotten saltier in general. Poor quality compared to the price in general
Dine in and the experience is so so. Scan QR code to see the menu but then it's a generic menu for all stores. Inquired about an item in the menu and then they said it's not valid on this shop. When I was done, before I was about to wipe my mouth, the server brought the bill to me already.
