The Barley House Concord

The rooms were spacious and tidy. The service was excellent for a Sunday, and the soup was absolutely delightful. The drink selection was impressive and varied. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, especially with the Patriots playing on a good day.

The restaurant was clean and the food was well-prepared, although it didn't have much flavor. The service was satisfactory, especially considering how busy it was. It's conveniently located with ample paid parking and plenty of shopping options nearby. I was let down by the whiskey selection, but the drink offerings overall were quite respectable. While the prices were a bit higher than I anticipated, they are in line with similar restaurants in the area.

Our server arrived and took our appetizer and main course orders without writing anything down. She asked us to repeat our orders, which made me think it might be helpful if she took some notes. The Blarney Puffs appetizer was good, but the dumplings were lacking in filling and reminded me of frozen pizza rolls. I ordered a hamburger, which was just average. After waiting an hour for a meal that was only so-so, I doubt we’ll return.

Pumpkinapfelbisque was phenomenal. Large beer wine menu. I picked a pretty simple turkey sandwich with pommes, but it really hit the place. Great service, a little louder atmosphere than I would have wished.

This was my first time here, and my friends second time. We sat outside, it was gorgeous weather. We both tried the Pumpkin Apple Bisque. It was not the soup for us, overpowering curry a grainy texture. We shared the pretzels- super yummy! The salt comes off easily, so if you're counting sodium (like me! You can easily remove almost all of it. We also split the turkey sandwich with cranberry mayo french fries. The sandwich bread was a bit crusty and it was an okay sandwich. Mostly bland to us even with the mayo. The turkey, lettuce and tomato were super fresh as the photo shows. The fries were good, and probably would be great served hot. Their pickles are huge, which is always a bonus to me. I would probably try them again sometime, their pizzas looked amazing as they served other customers.
