Bidra med feedbackWe attended for drinks and dinner on a sunny Sunday early evening - only our second visit since the name change and renos. The place was 90% empty; nothing like it used to be when it was the Foggy Dew. Service was fast and friendly; no complaints there. My wife's order of wings and salad was fine; however, my order of pizza was basically tasteless.First time we've ever seen a family with little kids in a pub, though apparently this is now allowed. This was a pub that we came to on an almost weekly basis in the past. I'm sure we will come here again - but it will be a much more infrequent occurrence.
I was denied service because of the way I was dressed. After injuring myself at work, I found myself with some extra time on my hands, and settled on having lunch, maybe a beer while I did some writing. I decided to try Pint 405, as it is on my way home and I had yet to pop in. I asked a staff member if the patio was open, and he said yes, but they have a no "Muscle shirt" policy. I often wear sleeveless shirts, particularly when it's hot, and I favor them when I'm working in the summer as it is intensely hot to wear both a sleeved T-shirt and a chefs coat while standing over flames. If anything, this was lucky, as I had a wrap on my arm from the injury and sleeves could rub against it. I asked if he was serious, and was assured that despite no signage to that effect, it is the policy. Now, that's bad enough, as it is the middle of the afternoon on Friday and a dress code for a pub seems foolish at best, but it isn't even the best part. As I was leaving, feeling very upset about what I felt was fairly shabby treatment of someone looking to spend money at their business, I noticed what their uniform is for their female employees. Tank tops. Functionally, a garment they have explicitly banned.I won't be going back to Pint 405.
Been here several times, as it is now owned by the hotel next door. Very nicely decorated "pub" atmosphere. Some of the burgers are great, some of the salads are really bad. A salad that comes pre-dressed screams of being made well in advance, with the dressing on it, and served in a bowl that makes it a bit hard to eat. The bigger concern is consistently the service. On a busy night, it is far too slow, and on a slow night, the staff seems to get distracted. I would have loved some ketchup with my meal, but if I waited for the server to come by, everything would have been cold.I will try again, I think the new management just needs some time to get things tuned up. Hopefully, they will get it right before they go under again....
I live close by and went in for the first time since renos on a quiet Tuesday night. The place was pretty empty except for a few people out on the patio. My friend and I stepped inside so the server would see us before seating ourselves on the patio as well. Took at least 20-30 minutes for the server to acknowledge us and take our drink order. My friend even went inside but was ignored by both the bartender and server so we patiently waited for service.Server was super awkward and didn't acknowledge that we've been waiting awhile. My biggest mistake was ordering food. Lucky for me I wasn't in a rush. It took an hour and a half to get a simple burger and fries and even then it was wrong. The server told me twice that it was coming any minute and she blamed the cook for forgetting about my order. She also said the cook forgot to add bacon adding to the wait time but I never ordered bacon but was charged extra for it anyways. Pretty brutal. We had 3 pints each but probably had to wait about 15 minutes each time with empty glasses before she came back to check in on us. Servers anywhere else would keep on eye out to see I'm nearly done my pint and ask if I wanted another. The quality of the service is nearly as bad as the name of the pub and the design of their specials menu. Really should have hired a consultant on that one.Your name sounds like a bad mashup of The Pint and Pub 340. Call yourself The 405, Pub 405, 405 Pub or just 405. Awful awful awful... if you want to learn how to run an acceptable pub go visit John B a few minutes away. John B has better service, better beer selection, better food.My advice to anyone in this neighbourhood is go to John B, Lougheed Village, Townhall or hell even Wings across the street if you want to get food and drinks without waiting 2 hours.Sorry pint 405 pub, you're awful.
We were staying at the Executive Plaza and visited the adjoining pub. It was a Friday so I ordered the $5.00 glass of 1516 off the special menu. The server came back with a PINT at $2.00 more. OK....no big deal, just an up sell. Our friends joined us and he ordered a cranberry and soda since he does NOT drink. We had 2 rounds of drinks and when the bill came my friend was charged for 2 Vodka, cranberry and soda's. What a mess that created. The bartender/manager came over to confirm that he had poured vodka in the glass. My friend is on medication and CAN NOT have alcohol. He did not taste it in the glass. He did not order it but they were expecting him to pay for it with no apologies for the fact that he may experience health problems caused by their mistake. What a joke. My other friend ordered a drink and was brought the wrong drink. We will never be back.
