Sashimi Sushi - Coquitlam

I have visited this restaurant for sushi a few times, and while it has never been one of my top choices, it has always been satisfactory. However, last week I ordered a Bento box for lunch to go (I work 5 minutes away) and it was terrible. The Teriyaki sauce was more like congealed fat than sauce, and the California roll had a strong fishy smell. I do not plan on returning.

Absolutely disgusting with the service. The young girl who works on the front gave me an attitude right from the racket. I forgot to hit my order. When I asked about my food, she told me I didn't order it and laugh. I didn't feel welcome at...all. Bad customer service. That's what the girl fingered me. And when I ate my food, they all played.

I value this restaurant not in comparison to 5-star establishments, but for what it offers as a standalone eatery. The dishes are fantastic, the prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. The food is always fresh, and you can get a full Bento box with miso soup for just $7.50. I have visited multiple times and the experience has been consistently good - fresh, affordable, and with a healthy selection. I would definitely return.

My wife and I were shopping at Coquitlam Center and were in need of a meal. We couldn't find any other restaurants nearby so we decided to check out this place. To our surprise, it was extremely busy. Despite the slow service, the sushi was fresh and made with care. We tried the Volcanic Roll, which we loved, but the Atlantic Roll wasn't as good. The Prawn Tempura was tasty. There is no table service, you order, they make it, and then you pick it up. Overall, it was a good experience. We spent $32 for both of us and had leftovers. Coquitlam Center location, Sushi rolls are pre-made.. who knows how long before they are served. undercooked rice, fish was sticky and smelly, I dared not eat it, crab was not crab. Miso soup was powdery, I did not finish any of this expensive lunch, very...poor, probably the worst sushi you can eat without being sick
