Merrick's Pizza - Coral Gables

I didn't pay a lot for my meal, but in Miami, if you don't mind spending $20 on pizza, then you'll get exactly what you're looking for.

I called to place a simple order for a large pizza: half pepperoni and half Hawaiian, thin crust. When I arrived, the woman at the counter told me it wasn't ready yet. I had waited for 30 minutes, and my house was only 13 minutes away. She said I'd have a 2-minute wait, but that was a lie; it took about 11 minutes instead. I also noticed that the restaurant was empty, which was a major red flag. Despite my reservations, I was curious enough to stay and give it a try. Unfortunately, the sauce had little flavor and the crust was a bit soggy. I wouldn't recommend this place; it felt overpriced for such a disappointing experience. I went on a Tuesday, and I can't imagine how it would be during a busy time. If you do want to try it out, I'd suggest ordering a small pizza instead of spending $22 like I did on a large one.

Picked up a pizza to go from here and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the dough, the flavor of the marinara as well as the quality of the toppings. The crispiness of the crust is a winner for me. Will definitely be back for more! If you?re in the Gables area, don?t overlook this place. One of the best pizzas in town!

I am responsible for getting pizza for my office every Friday. We have tried almost every pizza place in the Gables. Merrick's Pizza stands above them all. The food is always fresh. The ingredients are always fresh and delicious. The selection of toppings is vast. The crust is perfectly crispy and cooked. The service has always been excellent. When it comes to pizza in the Gables, this is the place.
