Bidra med feedbackPort City is definitely one of me! I'm a big fan of her white Sangria and the trio. The white Sangria is light and refreshing and paired fantastically with the trio appetizer consisting of pico, guac and a pimento cheese dip. The service is always solid they waiters are very attentive and accommodating. The atmosphere is also attractive for all different moods. You can sit inside, under a covered terrace or on the outdoor terrace overlooking Norman Lake. You also have a sand pit with seating that is perfect for a summer evening.
I've visited this restaurant a number of times, but will write about last night. My friends and I had a girl's night out here and sat in the bar area. This was the third seating assignment we requested, and that was met with professionalism and kindness. We were hot and didn't want to sit near the sunny windows : Our waitress was wonderful. She knew we had a painting party to get to just down the street and was so prompt with our drinks and food so we could get out on time. We all ordered mixed drinks. Mine was a **** Mary and it was spicy and delicious! I LOVED that mine came with olives instead of celery. Really one of the best ones I've had. The bread that they bring out to nibble before your meal is crusty on the outside and soft and nutty on the inside. They also bring a mixture of olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping. Perfect! Ours was brought out piping hot out of the oven. For my meal I had the blue cheese wedge salad with crab cakes. The wedge was chilled and fresh and had plenty of creamy dressing and tangy cheese. The crab cakes were crispy and had a hint of dill that was different and delicious. I also tasted my friend's calamari and it was crispy fried and seasoned perfectly. I can't wait to go back!
Voted Best of Lake Norman!. I am a frequent customer of this restaurant, I eat there at least 2-3 times a week since they have a good variety of foods at reasonable prices like the bison burger, wonderful calamari salmon melt-in-your-mouth filet mignon. I have always has good meals service. It is my go to place to take business associates for lunch, meet my gals after work friends family for dinner. I was proud when it was voted the Best Waterfront Restaurant of Lake Norman by both the readers of the Charlotte Observer Lake Norman Currents. To set the record straight for some of these other reviews-if they just talk to a manager while they are there if anything is wrong with their food or they just don't like it-my friend didn't like the seasoning on their fish-they will make it right. They care about their customers and want you to be a regular like me!
I've been to the restaurant now twice. The first experience was very poor. Slow wait staff who seemed to be on another planet. Had no knowledge of the menu and were all around rude. When I asked for a lemon for my water you could sense that they were upset by this. The food was decent but nothing spectacular. I had the mahi and my guest had the filet. The real issue was the time it took to get the food (nearly 40 minutes on a Thursday night) and the poor experience that out server created. That all seems to have changed after my most recent experience this past Friday. Our server was Logan, he had a very likable personality and seemed to enjoy being there. He also was far more knowledgable about the menu. He recommended the pork chop as well as the ravioli. My husband had the pork chop and I had the ravioli. The food came out in under 30 minutes and was fantastic. It all had great flavor and truly hit the spot. The server kept our drinks full and was very attentive, made our experience everything I had hoped for. I would definitely recommend trying Port City again if you haven't in the past few months. Seems to be on the climb! And kudos to the young man, Logan, for doing a great job and for the perfect recommendations! I'll be back!
So far so good. Drink prices are good, dinner was delicious and well presented, staff was friendly and professional. We liked it so much we reserved a table for New Years.
