Bidra med feedbackWaited 30 minutes for a baguette… it was pretty average. At £6.95 I’d have expected much more and faster service. Staff were nice and it was really busy but in future customers should definitely be warned of the wait. If we had known we wouldn’t have bothered and there was no apology either. I was very hungry!
Stopped here and decided to order a sandwich. The shop was pretty busy and the sandwiches were made to order, which meant after ordering we had to stand outside and wait for our number to be called to be handed our food. Weather was good so that wasn't to bad. Sandwich was nice, but expensive for what it was
Beef and ale pasty, mmm, couldn't taste the ale and could only find 5 very small pieces of beef. Definitely did not win an award with this pasty. Basically you're paying extra for the aparrent reputation. There must be better options. Way overpriced too, for a very average pasty.
We tried traditional pasties to go from this restaurant. The pastry was nice, with a filling of beef, potato, onion, and swede. While tasty, we found it wasn't very hot and not as delicious as pasties from another company that had chunkier steak and less swede, which we preferred. At £5.50, it was also more expensive. Overall, it was okay, but nothing exceptional despite its award-winning reputation.
I felt like I was overcharged at this restaurant. I ordered a pasty and a sausage roll with a couple of drinks and ended up being charged £19.96, which was surprisingly high. The person working at the till seemed to be favoring the ladies, as a woman who came in after us was able to jump the queue and only paid £1.00 for a sausage roll. I felt ripped off and will not be returning to this restaurant, even though it is fairly local to me.
