Bidra med feedbackMy boyfriend and I came here because we had been craving sashimi salad for some time. It took a little time before they realized they hadn't taken our order yet, but once they did our order arrived quickly. We ordered that and an albacore crunch roll. The sashimi salad and albacore were so fresh, and they had the perfect amount of sauce. You get a huge sashimi salad for a very good price as well. I can't wait to come back here again when I'm craving a sashimi salad!
Fast service, sushi lunch under an hour Baked salmon Rl Golden CA Rl Sapporo 34oz $27 Thanks Maru!
I usually scout out where to eat in advanced but we just moved to the area and on a whim decided to spontaneously eat somewhere. First off it was freezing and I heard customers around me saying the same thing but they kept all of their doors open. They put floor mats on the booth seats. The quality of everything we had was subpar down to the wasabi and ginger. The plate settings they gave us were really sticky. We had the double dragon roll and titanic roll. The rice had way too much mirin or sugar in it to where it was mushy and I could taste the sweetness. My boyfriend used their restroom and said his foot stuck to the floor with every step. The girls serving did a good job though but we will not be coming back.
Its Mediocre Maru! I've eaten sushi here before, but its been a while. They serve mainly rolls and I think they have added ramen udon to the menu. Maru is on Adams Harbor in CM. I started off with the soft shell crab and ika geso $6.95/each). I also had the chirashi don $15.95). Both apps were very average. The soft shell crab was small, but at least it was fresh. Likewise, the ika geso was chewy, indicative of being overcooked: 3 Stars. On the other hand, the fish in the chirashi was fresh. However, there wasn't much of it. In addition, the rice was not good. It was far too sticky and wasn't seasoned well. Lastly, this dish usually comes w/ miso soup and a salad at this price: 3 Stars. Regarding the ambiance, there is a sushi bar to your left as you enter. To your right is the dining area with booths and tables. There were not many customers during prime time lunch on a Wed, and no customers 12:50: 3 Stars. Conversely, the service was friendly and efficient. The food arrived quickly: 4 Stars. A decent, Americanized place if you are in the neighborhood. However, there are far better places for sushi in the area if you can drive a mile or so further.
The standout items include: - **Superman Burrito:** A secret menu item featuring salmon, tuna, and crab wrapped in soy paper (no rice), served with a delightful citrus dipping sauce. - **Crazy Avocado:** Another secret menu item consisting of a whole avocado stuffed with spicy tuna and cream cheese, then fried to perfection. - **Miso Soup** - **Gyoza** - **Shumai** - **Huntington Beach Roll** - **Yellowtail Yuzu Roll** The following dishes are just average: - **Beef Bulgogi Spring Roll:** This is essentially a fried eggroll filled with beef, topped with cheese sauce and jalapeños. - **Shishito Peppers** Unfortunately, I found these items lacking: - **Coconut Shrimp Roll:** Featuring coconut-crusted shrimp and peanut butter rolled in rice, it didn’t quite hit the mark. - **Volcano Roll:** Comprising crab, cream cheese, salmon, and spicy tuna, it was baked but came out a bit mushy—not at all like the enticing picture on the menu (check out my photo instead). - **Fatty Salmon Belly:** Served in large chunks with some skin. - **Fatty Yellowtail:** Thick slices also came with skin. Overall, there were some highlights, but a few dishes fell short of expectations.
