Seabirds Kitchen The Lab - Costa Mesa

I enjoy dining at this restaurant and always return when I am in town for work. The purple taquitos are incredible, as well as the cauliflower salad and their shells. I love that many of the dishes are spicy, but they are willing to accommodate those who are sensitive to spice.

Today I am feeling good and decided to eat vegan. I remember the Lime Truck from when they were on the Great Food Truck Race, and back then they didn't have many vegan options. But things have changed and vegan food has improved a lot. I tried the mushroom taco and mac and cheese, and sat outside on the terrace. I loved the taco, as I am a fan of mushrooms. But the real highlight was the mac and cheese - it's probably the best I've ever had. I couldn't get enough of it. The service was great and it was very relaxing sitting out on the terrace.

The mac and cheese were just as tasty as the avocado taco and the bean burger! The atmosphere inside the restaurant is a bit chilly, so it's best to enjoy a delicious meal outside and then explore the charming shops nearby.

I have been enjoying Seabirds since the old food truck days and I will keep coming back for more. Avocado tacos! Purple potato taquitos! Locals bowl! Cauliflower ceviche on a warm afternoon!

Seabirds incorporates kids into the scene too! Vegan restaurants often over look vegan kids, but not Seabirds! Fantastic food and feel!
