Bidra med feedbackNoticed this place only because I was eating bun vermicelli dish next door (the lemon grass beef bun is my summer fave).Ordered the Bangkok Betty. BAM! I normally don't like shakes but this one with mango coconut cream in coconut milk, YUM! Inhaled it.Very good, fruendly service by that amazing shake artist behind the counter.A bit of a splurge so sit savor.Oh, free popcorn. Yes!
They can make their shakes with non dairy ice cream and whipped cream, but most of the shakes on the menu have other mix ins that are non vegan. Their chocolate sauce is apparently non vegan, so any chocolate shakes are out. Their menu rotates, but when I was there I was told that the only fully veganizable options were The Street (cookies and cream) and Bangkok Betty (mango/coconut). I got The Street, and it was very good. It was a large portion and and very thick, so I recommend sharing with a friend if you can. There was a blue drizzle around the cup that made it pretty to look at. It came with some sort of pastry topper I didn't ask if it was vegan, so I can only hope that it was. Due to the limited options I'd recommend a fully vegan place like Hug Life or Dear Bella over this place. But if you do find yourself here you can still get a very good shake.
I ordered the Apple Bottom milkshake, which was pretty good but probably not something I would order again. It’s essentially a vanilla milkshake with a slice of apple pie at the bottom of the cup. I think it would have been better if the pie were mixed in, as the milkshake is too thick to scoop it out or blend it well. My boyfriend tried the S'mores milkshake, and it was delicious! It was rich in chocolate and had marshmallow pieces throughout. If I lived closer, I would definitely come by often, so I’d say it's definitely worth a try!
This place was AWESOME! My partner is not a fan of sweets normally, so we decided to share the Donkey Kong milkshake... From the first sip, he regretted that choice. Best milkshake ever. The staff was great and friendly! Any time we're in the area, we WILL be back again.
A whole shop dedicated to Milkshakes with some boozy options? Sounds like a teenage dream to me. Even though those years are long gone, a guy can still reminisce right? The Straw is known for their locked and loaded milkshakes where you can add whiskey if you so desire. When we went, that was the only alcohol available but I'd love for them to bring in Kahlua or something similar. I ordered the Cookies N Cream $10 , which they made vegan for me by subbing it out with vegan whip and ice cream. They assured me that everything else in the drink was already vegan cause why have a vegan milkshake if part of it isn't? My drink was a sugary explosion of cookies, cream, and deliciousness. It was a great treat to end the night. One milkshake can definitely be split by two people at least, and that's something I highly recommend. I couldn't tell initially since it was so dark inside, but my milkshake was actually blue and very Sesame Street esque. Thanks Straw for the friendly service and trip down memory lane.
