Bidra med feedbackStay at the manor hotel over the road for 1 night and decided to here for a few drinks. has the feeling of a real local pub, but the regular and bar staff (kieran was a big laugh and very welcoming). all friendly and chatting with us. it was karaoke night with anyone who was busy with a real laugh. when they visit the opposite, they give this place a visit to them themselves!
Had a great night, eating was excellent. owners very friendly, staff were very nice. will definitely go back while here on our stay.
Nice eating, friendly atmosphere great worth. I'm sorry about the photo, I just wanted to put it in! the lamb was unbelievable, falling the bone with a lot of tasty engraving! Bar area with pool table and darts when they are looking to be social. I... favored the more awesome tables on the other side, although there is a separate dining room/functional room if they are looking for something more intimate on the back. varied menu and helpful staff. highly recommended.
We have booked a table that has read good reviews and also how it is dog friendly. we opened the door and the bar delicately cried over the activated bar, we must go around the back, because dogs were not allowed. Everyone stared in there as if we were going to bed with a lion, not with an older border guard. the rules had apparently changed in the week since we had booked our table, so the renter said he would make a special case. we didn't feel special. the pub absolutely stank of zigarettenrauch, possibly from the garden, but very heavy in the air, and I saw people go with cigarettes easily to use the toilets. the food was shockingly bad. stale, devoured salat absolutely swimming in balsamico vinegar. soggy, nasty tasting chips, and a chicken parmo, that was hard and tasteless, scampi was not much better and that came out of a deep-frozen pocket! we left. possibly the worst pub we've ever been and the worst we've ever been served.
Staying at the Manor Hotel Spa (love this place) but knock on issues with the kitchen due to covid staff shortages (not their fault at all, and we were informed that this was so) so we went to the Eden for a meal, lovely...atmosphere, great land lord his (cook) wife, plenty on the plate for a very reasonable price, on talking to the landlord there are plans in progress to bring this lovely 'local ' into the 21st century with plans to add B B options, give it a try, I 'm sure you won 't be disappointed. I wish this lovely couple and their little son all the best for the future.
