Gills Fry Fry - County Durham

Excellent for a post-beach walk in the afternoon. lovely staff very kind. brilliant view of the sea and beautiful promenade.

Very clean interior, with a few tables available for sitting in. Typical chippy menu but also serves pizzas, parmos, etc. Food was really good; big portions!

We were just walking past and thought it looked appealing, so we went in and had very tasty fish and chips that were freshly fired. Very tasty and better than the competitor 100 yards up the road!!

My partner and I ordered fish and chips twice, we were served by a very unfriendly, miserable counter assistant, in fact, both assistants acted like I owed them a living...they should realise its the customers that keep them in a job...a little politeness goes a long way. Also, the restaurant itself was not clean, the floors were covered in chips making them dangerous and the tables could have done with a good cleaning. The food was great but we won't return due to poor service.

I was so excited for my fish and chips I didn't think of taking a photo, the fish was fried to perfection, I've never had a piece of fish that nice in my local area, absolutely beautiful, the service was amazing, everyone was so nice and the shop is stunning too. Kid-friendliness: My autistic daughter loved the place. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
