Bidra med feedbackI ate at Manvirros when it first opened. The service and timing of our dinner arriving were problematic. However I returned to try the lunch smorgasbord and was delighted. I have to avoid gluten and everything was pointed out that I could eat (which only excluded the Nam bread). The food is spiced to my liking--warm but the heat not overpowering the tastes of the dishes. The service after my first experience now continues to be excellent. I'm going to eat there today as a matter of fact.
We didn't expect to find good Indian food here, but we did! The main dishes had much more meat than found in most of our Indian resturants in the states. The cod tandoori was a good find. Their naan was hot, feesh, just right. Wasn't cheap, but the dishes were large, so it evened out I guess.
We visited from out of town and ate dinner. Just a couple things to note, the lunch buffet is no longer available. The price on the window is for the lunch buffet that no longer exists. The dinner buffet price is $20. So we were surprised at the till. That being said, we enjoyed the food. I've had better butter chicken. This seemed to be cooked and tossed into the sauce. Who knows. My favourite part of the buffet were the chicken pakoras. I ate them with mango chutney. So yummy. They had veggie pakoras with spinach which were also tasty. Friendly service and clean seating area. I would recommend sprucing up the bathrooms though. Just needed some TLC. :)
I have eaten here just once but plan on returning- the food and service were good. I chose from the limited (but appreciated) vegan options - Chana masala, samosas, rice, and whole wheat roti which left lots to take home. The dishes were all good and the prices reasonable.
As part of a "dine around event" for dining, we chose this restaurant as one of four to get our card stamped. Dropping for dinner at 5 pm got us seated immediately as it was fairly empty. We were served upon seating with our drinks promptly arriving. As it was a fixed priced offer deal we could have an appetizer, entree and desert each. The appetizers (fried Onions and Samosa) were great., Likewise the entree of Lamb Curry and Butter Chicken with a good serving of Naan bread we had was tasty and very good and plentiful in amount. If you like it spicy like I did for the Chicken Curry just mention it to the server. The deserts of 3 different flavours sorbet/ice cream rounded up the meal nicely. Be aware the portions are generous. We took half the amount of each entree home for another meal the next day. Overall a very good experience with a subdued ambiance and service. We will visit again.
