We had high expectations for the Crown Isle Golf Club's lounge/restaurant which claims itself to be a "gastro-pub".
A great way to unwind and dine al fresco after a round of golf .
Colleen and I visited the Crown Isle Clubhouse and stayed for lunch at the Timber Room. We were greeted by our lovely server Nathalie, who watched over us personally and professionally. After getting our beers (Fat Tug & Blue Buck), we decided to split a 2 piece Fish & Chip. It was EXCELLENT! The snapper was lightly battered and well-cooked. The fries were crispy. And best of all, they split the plate for us so we both enjoyed the fresh coleslaw and tangy tartar. We'll be back.Cheers, Paul
We ate as a foursome, after two of us played a round of golf (great course). I had a burger and beer. The burger was OK, but nothing special. The fries seemed to be the frozen variety... definitely "run of the mill". My friend had baby back ribs, and seemed to really enjoy them. They had a variety of beers on tap -- acceptable selection, but not outstanding... for a gastropub. The scenery of the course was grand and the service was friendly and responsive. There are many places in the area for more interesting food. So I will call this place average as a restaurant. But certainly worth a visit if you are coming anyway for the golf.
