Bidra med feedbackWe thought we had found a beautiful little jewel on the jardín, but the direction in the kitchen left everything to be desired. the restaurant has a beautiful terrace in the centenario park, a great location, though very touristy. I ordered my steak medium... rare and it came really unconsistently boiled, almost like the cooking area had very hot and very cold stains. some areas were **** raw, others were well cooked. there was also absolutely no taste at all. my wife ordered the Margarita pizza and her first cake on to see that there is a load bought frozen pizza? it was the worst margarita I've ever seen or tasted. the crust tasted prefabricated and of poor quality, and there was a very tiny piece of dried basilikum on it, not the last of fresh basilikum, which should be on a margarita pizza. even the cheese was bad.
The restaurant is a cozy place to sit and have drinks, especially the mezcals, and eat snacks. there are often live music. the main plates are not as reliable as the starters. the service and the prices are good. anselma advertises itself as Cantina....In the first sight, this is not a classic cantina, maybe a hipster canina. that could be the best way to think of a place to sit with their friends, have a few drinks, listen to them music and order them to eat to them.
This restaurant is located on Coyoacan Square. After we were from one restaurant to another looking for a menu in English, we stopped here because the waiter said he spoke English and could tell us about the menu. I have an English/Spanish translator ap and in the rule. they use that, but I took the word of the guy for it. big mistake! the barbacoa de ternera should be bark meat, but turned out that they are pork. there was no taste and there was hardly any flesh on it. the cochinita pibil was suspected to be deer, but really we have no idea what it was, but at least it was tasteful. Again there was hardly any of it and both of them were served with maistortillas and some sauces and that was it. 240 pesos for the barbacoa and 135 pesos for the cochinita. with drinks came the bill to 639 pesos and the waiter had the nerve to add his own 15% tip! we paid 736 pesos (approx. $50) and couldn't get out fast enough. still hungry!
We thought we'd found a nice little gem on the jardín, but the execution in the kitchen left everything to be desired. To their credit, the restaurant has a nice patio on Centenario Park, a great location albeit very touristy. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came really inconsistently cooked, almost like the cooking surface had very hot and very cold spots. Some areas were bloody raw, others were cooked medium well. It also completely lacked any flavor whatsoever. My wife ordered the margarita pizza and her first words on seeing it were "is this a store bought frozen pizza?" It was the worst margarita I've ever seen or tasted. The crust tasted pre-made and of poor quality, and there was one very tiny piece of dried basil on it, not the loads of fresh basil that should be on a margarita pizza. Even the cheese was bad.
