The gardens are beautifully maintained and were in full bloom during our visit in June, filled with delightful scents. There are pleasant walking paths around the area, a lovely garden, and a bird hide to explore. Unfortunately, Vita's writing room in the tower was closed for repairs, but we were able to visit the library. The restaurant offers scenic views of the surrounding landscape and features both vegan and gluten-free options on the menu.
This restaurant features beautiful gardens, making it an ideal spot to spend the day, whether you're alone, with children, or with friends. There are areas to relax, along with a lovely café. The parking lot is quite spacious and free for national visitors. Near the entrance, you’ll find parking for bicycles as well. The restrooms were clean, and the shop offered a wide variety of gifts, ranging from typical postcards and kitchen items to delicious jams and preserves. I definitely recommend visiting!
Lovely NT gardens with friendly staff/volunteers. The gardens are beautiful and not too large to wander around. If you are feel like a bit of a challenge you can climb the winding wooden staircase to the tower. The views are spectacular and well worth the climb.
Visited twice, a fortnight apart and was impressed at the overlapping planting. Great tea room, very diligent regarding allergies. All staff and volunteers were friendly and helpful. Beautiful planting and architecture.
A lovely mix of formal and informal gardens, a good cafe/tea room/shop and a few other bits and pieces to look at like the Oast and barn. Although the NT-owned land is extensive (470 acres, I think? , the gardens themselves are on five acres and don't take too long to walk around. Probably a few hours' worth of visit for most people, but a very pleasant few hours indeed.
