Black Swan - Crawley

Fantastic service. Served by three ladies who were most accommodating. First visit for my family although I have visited many times. They loved it too. Food always to a high standard. Thank you.

A pleasant restaurant with good ambience. Sunday roast excellent as was chicken and ham pie. Service patchy. Had long wait for a drink and dessert. Absolutely tiny portion of treacle tart. Literally 3 mouthfuls for over £5. Not worth wait or price.

The food and service is much better than it used to be but for me still has some way to go.

Visited Sunday 25th 5.15pm. Was told there was some roast chicken left which I made the mistake of ordering! It arrived looking very unappetising I should really have sent it back but didn't. I asked for more gravy was brought a tiny jug, the vegetables apart from the red cabbage were unidentifiable looked as if they had been cooked a while before reheated how many times I wonder? I have to say the chicken was delicious, not a complete waste of money then!! We had previously stopped going to The Black Swan after the “refurbishment” because it had really gone downhill but then went for a Christmas celebration with our club were pleasantly surprised everything was great. This was due to Ryan being there to supervise who had, he told us been brought in to sort things out . He certainly did so then but unfortunately standards seem to have slipped again. I notice on all the reviews I’ve just read on all the complaints W Hall, manager of Black Swan thanks people for their comments says he will take them on board!! Clearly he hasn’t is just letting the reputation of this once lovely place slide lower lower. The only way you can save this situation is to bring Ryan back keep him there even then get a mystery diner to go in from time to time.
