River Spice - Dacorum

I think both previous reviews are meant for the river cafe in hammersmith. this river cafe is right in front of the putney bridge station and not really on the river or with a hint of river views. Despite a sign that said outside that they were once chosen the best caffe in london, that would I call more greasy spoon cafe. her menu consists largely of different forms of sausage, icy and chips. definitiw no calamari or skallops here! don't get me wrong I didn't want to take it, but to me, it's a friendly and comfortable place for local and workers to take an breakfast sarnie or a hot lunch not a destination café.

As I am pampered, I know that and do not take it for granted. a city so culturally rich in history of pastness and present, a great friend once quoted, .if her sick of london, they are sick of life. the participation in this magnificent show is the culinary community that dates back to the first day; the people must finally eat. but as with any big city, it develops constantly and openings and closure are a daily event. some however, buck the trend and themselves as permanent institutions, some like river cafe. the river cafe is located next to the thems in hammersmith, west london, has since 1987 been a good call on the basis of the inventive seasonal Italian cuisine...read more

Great service from the staff assisting me with exactly what I wanted over the phone. Friendly delivery driver. Food was very flavoursome, tasty fresh! The temperature could have been hotter but apart from that very impressed and will order again!

Disaster! Ordered a takeaway and was asked if they could call back with the total. No call came so rang back to chase. Food had not arrived after an hour so called again and was told that I should have been informed there was over an hour wait (which I wasn’t). Still no food after 1 and a half hours so rang again to be told the driver was at the top of the road. 20 minutes later still no food! Rang again just as driver came nearly 2 hours after placing the order. Took the order and went inside. It was not my order at all! It was also stone cold. We were so hungry we couldn’t go through the pain of ringing again and potentially waiting another hour for the right food so we reheated it and ate it. It was poor. Chicken tikka masala was not made with chicken tikka but ordinary chicken and was very sweet, Nan breads were doughy and it was pretty awful. Avoid!!!!!!!

I was the first person to write a review for these back in 2014 and I can easily say they are still my number one curry place. I will not ever go to another Indian take away. The food always tastes excellent, the portions are big and delivery is quick. I am a huge prawn fan and usually when ordering a prawn curry from most places, the Tiny little tasteless prawns are used, however with riverside you do not have to order a king prawn dish to get good prawns! I have to also add that we love the delivery man, he is always so polite and is a big fan of our little dog Joey Who he always says hello to. I’ve recommended these to my parents who also love this place and order regularly.
