Bidra med feedbackWent back again recently and loved it! The Mahar Yangon soup were fantastic. Great place. Must have caught them on an off day last visit.
Amazing! I wish I could eat this food more often. Great service and very unique cusine. The tea leaf salad is a must and I also love the Samusa Soup! B Star is their more modern little sister restaurant down the street and they take reservations.
One of my favorite Burmese food spots in town. Not super busy and the service is quite good. They have a lot of varieties on their menu. Shan Tofu (chickpeas) is excellent. Shrimps fritters w/ bean sprouts is also amazing. My all time favorite is Shan Noodles. It is phenomenal.
This is a homey Burmese restaurant with a kitschy feel. The entrance faces busy street so you'll need to find parking nearby on one of the side street which won't always be easy. Inside there is a good amount of seating for a smallish establishment. The owners also do table service, they are soft spoken and very nice and polite, though not very fast in movement. I would rate the dishes I tried to be a solid B all around... Not so good to be memorable, but nothing objectionable. Case in point is the tea leaf salad a bit bland but overall fresh and tasty. The prices are rather cheap compared to other Burmese restaurants so the food feels well worth it. One thing to keep in mind is that their curry does not come with rice, you'll have to order it separately. This is a good spot for a simple lunch if you feel a craving for Burmese, but probably not a place you'd choose to celebrate an anniversary.
The most memorable out of all the places I ate at during my CA visit. The fermented Mahar Yangon is absolutely addictive. It's amazing how all those ingredients come together to create that wonderful palette.
