Spiral Japanese Cuisine - Daly City

I want to love this restaurant because it is in the shopping center with lots of parking, good location. Unfortunately, the sushi and/or rolls are very disappointing. Why? The rice is too soft and does not taste properly. That's so important and the rest doesn't matter.

The restaurant is fine for the most important Japanese dishes, but do not expect anything too authentic, or even the aroma. The sticky rice was not so sticky, the meat dish was not so meaty. But the salmon sashimi was good, and the tempura was not bad. There are many seats and the staff was friendly. It will take you by when you need a Japanese meal, but there is nothing special to come.

Underwhelmed with the tonkotsu ramen. The flavorful chashu was the best part. Very little flavor in the broth. Maybe their sushi and bentos are better.

I have tried a few Japanese cuisine restaurant in the bay area, but Spiral was by far the best. The food was expensive, but the taste, texture, and quality is definitely worth it. If I had one complaint, it would be the lack of liveliness in the servers ? but maybe it 's just the masks ?.

This restaurant is located in the busy Westlake Mall. The sashimi is fresh and the service is fast. I'd like to see the restaurant offers more options such as brown rice. The salad was ok and the menu selection was pretty diverse.
