Savory Maine Dining Provisions

After reading the reviews on Yelp, we were let down by our experience at this restaurant. The dishes were quite flavorless and served in small portions, aside from the soup. I opted for the fish special and my spouse had the meatloaf. Although the soup was satisfactory, we were both dissatisfied with the taste and size of our main dishes. If you prefer plain food, this may be to your liking. While not terrible, it lacked in flavor. We do not suggest dining here. On a positive note, the menu does offer numerous gluten-free choices for those interested.

We luckily stumbled upon this place while passing through the tiny town of Damariscotta. The restaurant is located in the back of an old church building, facing the water so it’s not easy to spot initially. There are rustic picnic tables out back and a lovely view. I had the vegan Ruben sandwich and an amazing maple cream soda. My daughter ordered the vegan meatloaf. Everything was absolutely fresh delicious and the service was quick and friendly. We met the owner, Grace, working in the small kitchen, turning out every dish with care. Definitely worth a visit, and every penny. PS We happened to be sitting right next to the guy who left the one star review and he ate (and seemingly enjoyed! every bite.

I would not recommend this place even if it granted me everlasting eternity. I've honestly never eaten at a worse place in my 35yrs of existence.
